India defeat Sri Lanka by six wickets after the latter won the toss and elected to bat first. There was confusion during the toss as the match referee did not hear Sangakkara's call and the toss had to be conducted again.
The first innings started with electric fielding performances from Suresh Raina and Yuvraj Singh at point and mid-point positions.
Mahela Jayawardena hit a wonderful century to help Sri Lanka set a target of 274/6.
Gambhir (97 off 122) helped steady the Indian innings after losing the early wickets of Sehwag(0) and Sachin(18).Then came Dhoni who played an absolute captain's knock(91 off 79).He finished the game in style with a six.
